After spending quite a bit of time in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, it did not take John long before he started fundraising for the hospital’s charity, Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT).
On one particular visit to the hospital, John asked ACT about the children staying in hospital over Christmas. A year later, John was giving out copies of ‘Windy B – The Christmas Lights’ to the children on the hospital wards and reading them his first book, his first Windy B story.
Since then, John has donated copies of Windy B books to ACT each Christmas and all proceeds from John’s events, school readings and book sales go to ACT. Indeed, the Windy B stories might never have become books for children and parents had it not been for John’s hospital visit all those years ago.
If you want to donate to ACT, just go to act4addenbrookes.org.uk and you will be on the donate page. If you are a school, company or individual making a donation on John’s behalf, please remember to write ‘Windy B’ in the appropriate section. Thank you
